SE Quadrant

The southeast portion of the Adirondack Park features Lake George and a portion of Lake Champlain along the New York Vermont border. The Hudson River corridor forms a scenic arc through the center of the area, providing opportunities for enjoyable on road riding. The mountain biking opportunities in this area range from the easy ride to historic Camp Santanoni near Newcomb, to trails on and near the shore of Lake George, to large systems of trails in Speculator, North Hudson, and Schroon Lake. This area also contains Paradox Lake, Schroon Lake, the Schroon River, Brant Lake, and Great Sacandaga Lake.

Population centers in closest proximity to the SE Adirondacks in New York State include Gloversville, Glens Falls, Saratoga, and Albany; nearby is central and southern Vermont, including Rutland. Distance from Boston is about 250 miles, while it is 200 miles to New York City and 120 miles to Montreal. To reach this part of the Adirondack Park: take I 87 south from the Quebec border to Adirondack Park exits; from Burlington and northern Vermont, take Routes 7 and 17 to the Crown Point Bridge; from Rutland and central Vermont, take US Route 4 to NY Route 22; and, from the south, take I 87 or NY Route 30.
